Man Appears in Court Over Alleged Murders of Two Women

A 40-year-old man has appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink, facing charges for the murders of two women in London and the rape of a third. Simon Levy, of Beaufoy Road in Tottenham, north London, is accused of killing Sheryl Wilkins, 39, and Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in attacks that occurred five months apart.

Details of the Alleged Offences

Prosecutor Tom Little KC outlined the case to the court, revealing that Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo was found dead on March 17, 2025, on the Aylesbury estate in south-east London. Her body was discovered in a block of flats described as "very largely disused," with few residents and only occasional security patrols. The court heard it is alleged that Levy travelled to the area the day before and killed her during a sexual encounter.

Levy is further accused of the murder of Sheryl Wilkins, who was found unresponsive on High Road, Tottenham, on August 24. In addition to the murder charges, Levy faces charges of grievous bodily harm with intent, non-fatal strangulation, and two counts of rape against another woman, who has legal anonymity, in an incident also on High Road, Tottenham, on January 21.

Court Proceedings and Next Steps

During the hearing, Levy, who wore a grey tracksuit and dark glasses, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. Judge Mark Lucraft KC remanded him in custody. A plea and case management hearing has been scheduled for February 23 at the Old Bailey. Levy was not asked to enter pleas to any of the charges during this initial appearance.
