Tragic Fall in Sowerby Bridge

A 25-year-old man has died after falling from a tower block in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. The man has been named locally as Travis Lodge.

The incident occurred on Thursday, November 27, at a block of flats on Tower Hill. Emergency services, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, were called to the scene at 10:06am.

Travis was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but tragically passed away later that same day.

Police Investigation and Arrest

West Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall. Officers were seen carrying out enquiries on the ninth floor of the building.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of a Section 18 assault and remains in police custody. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Detectives from Calderdale CID are leading the investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Tower Hill area on Thursday morning.

Heartfelt Tributes to a 'Genuine and Funny' Man

Friends and family have paid emotional tributes to Travis, describing him as a "genuine, honest and funny lad".

In a touching post on Facebook, his friend Adam Chapman wrote: "I don’t know where to begin. An absolute shock, you’re no longer here with us, Travis... Losing you at 25 doesn't feel real to me. I’ll carry your memory forward till the day I die."

Another friend, Josh Niner, recalled meeting Travis at the Download Festival. He said: "Genuine, honest and funny lad was great meeting him... It's really sad to hear this; my condolences to all family and friends. R.I.P. Travis Lodge."

The community in Sowerby Bridge has been left shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of the young man.
