Police in Norfolk have launched a major and urgent search operation for a 79-year-old woman who disappeared from her home yesterday morning.

Doorbell Camera Captures Last Known Sighting

Jill Grint was last seen near her home on Sarah William Close in the Earlham area of Norwich at approximately 10.30am on Friday, 5 December. Her final known movements were captured on a neighbour's doorbell camera. The footage shows Ms Grint wearing a blue coat with navy trousers and navy trainers. She was carrying what is believed to be a yellow bag and using her walking stick. She is described as having shoulder-length grey hair.

Large-Scale Police Operation Underway

Norfolk Police have deployed significant resources in a bid to locate Ms Grint, expressing serious concern for her welfare. The search effort, which began on Friday afternoon, continued late into the evening and involved police dogs, a specialist drone team, and the police helicopter. Officers have also been conducting house-to-house enquiries in the local area.

The force issued a corrected description after these initial enquiries, confirming the details seen on the doorbell footage. A police spokesperson stated: 'This is different to the description initially given and we would urge anyone who has seen Jill during the day, or knows of her current whereabouts to call us.'

Public Urged to Assist Search

Authorities are appealing directly to the public for any information that could help trace Ms Grint. Anyone who may have seen her since Friday morning is asked to contact Norfolk Police immediately. The police have reiterated their concern for her safety and wellbeing.
