A major international search has been launched for a British holidaymaker who vanished in Southeast Asia after his last contact with family on Christmas Day.
Family's Last Contact Was Christmas Morning Video Call
Mark Counsell, a 31-year-old man from Pontypool in South Wales, was last seen by his loved ones during a FaceTime video call on the morning of Thursday, 25 December. The call took place between 9am and 10am UK time, while he was travelling in Thailand.
He has not been heard from since, sparking a significant missing person investigation spanning thousands of miles. Authorities believe he could be in Thailand or possibly in the Kuala Lumpur area of Malaysia.
Police Appeal for Information on His Whereabouts
Gwent Police have issued a public appeal for information to help trace Mr Counsell. The force confirmed he was reported missing and is believed to have been travelling in Thailand recently.
In their statement, police said: "We’re appealing for information to find Mark Counsell, 31, who has been reported as missing. Mark was last seen on Thursday 25 December between 9am and 10am on video call."
They have also directly appealed to Mark himself, adding: "Mark is also urged to get in touch with us."

Mark Counsell is described as a white male, aged 31, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with an average build. When he was last seen, he was wearing a khaki-coloured Fred Perry t-shirt.
