A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent is fighting for his life after a brazen daylight shooting on Chicago's West Side, sparking a major federal investigation.
The incident occurred around 1:30 PM local time on Thursday, sending shockwaves through the law enforcement community. The agent, whose identity remains protected, was ambushed while performing his official duties in the Harrison District.
According to federal sources, the agent sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby trauma centre in critical condition. Medical staff describe his injuries as grave but stable following emergency surgery.
