Grandmother Found Dead in Four-Foot Safe in Baltimore Home
Grandmother Found Dead in Safe, Death Undetermined

A 53-year-old grandmother was tragically discovered dead inside a four-foot-tall safe in the basement of her Maryland home, police have confirmed. The body of Dawn White was found on 19 April 2025, one day after she was officially reported missing.

A Timeline of Tragedy

White was last seen alive on 14 April, captured on her sister Kimberly Bache's Ring doorbell camera. Her disappearance was reported to authorities on 18 April. The subsequent discovery of her body inside the large metal safe in her Baltimore home sent shockwaves through her family and community.

According to the medical examiner's office, White died from PCP intoxication and dehydration. Her body was found in what was described as an abnormal position within the confined space. The Baltimore Police Department has stated that her manner of death is classified as undetermined and is not currently being investigated as a homicide.

A Family's Search for Answers

Months after the harrowing discovery, White's grieving family continues to demand clarity on the circumstances that led to her being trapped inside the safe. They have expressed strong disbelief that she would have entered the safe voluntarily. "I just want justice. I don't care who it was that did it. I just want them to find out who did it," one family member stated.

White, remembered as a cherished mother and grandmother, was married to Steven Broyles until his passing in September 2024. She leaves behind two daughters, Rachel and Ashley, and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held for her on 3 May.

History of Domestic Incidents

Police records reveal a troubling backdrop to the case. The Baltimore Police Department confirmed to FOX45 that White was involved in two reported domestic violence incidents in March 2025. Furthermore, an assault was reported at her home on 9 April, just ten days before her body was found.

Despite these prior reports and the family's suspicions, authorities maintain their position. A police spokesperson told the Daily Mail, "The death of Dawn White is not being investigated as a homicide. At this time, we will neither confirm nor deny the identity of any individual in connection with her death, as no suspects or persons of interest have been identified."

The case remains a painful mystery, leaving a family in mourning while awaiting definitive answers about how their beloved relative met such a tragic and confined end.
