Golders Green Arson Suspects Released on Bail as Investigation Continues

Two men who were arrested in connection with a serious arson attack targeting Jewish community ambulances in Golders Green have been released on bail, according to the Metropolitan Police. The suspects, both British nationals aged 47 and 45, were detained on Wednesday on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Police Investigation and Searches

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the men have been bailed until April while the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Police searches have been conducted at addresses in the Kilburn and Kings Cross areas of London, where the arrests took place. Additionally, further searches have been carried out at two other addresses in north-west London as part of the inquiry.

Commander Helen Flanagan, head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, which is leading the investigation, stated: “Although the two men have been released from police custody, there are strict bail conditions in place while we continue to investigate their suspected involvement in this incident.”

Public Reassurance and Community Support

Commander Flanagan added: “I can reassure the public that we will be closely monitoring these while we carry out further inquiries. We continue to work to try and identify all of those involved in this appalling attack and the investigation team is working around the clock to do this.”

She also expressed gratitude for the support from the public and the local Jewish community, reiterating an appeal for anyone with information to come forward. The arson attack, which involved setting fire to ambulances used by the Jewish community, has raised significant concerns and prompted a robust police response.

The investigation is being treated with high priority, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice. The release on bail does not signify the end of the case, as police continue to gather evidence and pursue leads in this ongoing matter.
