Malaysian Police Uncover Gruesome Scene After Neighbours Report Foul Smell
Police in Malaysia have made a horrifying discovery at a residential property in Kampung Belau, Merbok, after neighbours alerted authorities to a persistent foul odour emanating from the area. Officers forced their way into the home to find the decapitated bodies of a husband and wife, along with the body of their son in a separate room.
Details of the Tragic Discovery
The bodies of the 65-year-old man and 53-year-old woman were found wrapped in a carpet in the kitchen of the house. According to local police chief Hanyan Ramlan, the couple's 29-year-old son was discovered in a bedroom with severe slash wounds to his neck. A number of sharp weapons were located near his body, adding to the grim nature of the scene.
Local media has identified the victims as Zikri Abdul Rahman, his wife Suraya Man, and their son Muhammad Shakir Zufayri Abdul Aziz. Members of the public had grown concerned after not seeing the family for three days, prompting them to contact the police.
Investigation and Timeline
The level of decomposition observed by investigators suggests that the husband and wife had been deceased for more than two days before their discovery. Their bodies had reached an advanced stage of decomposition, while evidence indicates their son likely died at a later time.
According to reports from Free Malaysia Today, the son is believed to have had a history of mental health issues, though investigators have not confirmed any specific motives or circumstances surrounding the deaths. The case is currently being treated as a murder investigation by Malaysian authorities.
Post-mortem examinations were scheduled to take place at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar to determine the exact causes of death and gather further forensic evidence. The police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this tragic incident in the quiet community of Kampung Belau.
