A body has been discovered in woodland during a major search for a missing woman. Joanna Lewis, 59, went missing from Tonbridge, Kent on Wednesday, April 29, and police had become increasingly concerned for her welfare.
She was last seen in the Colts Hill area at around 9am and is believed to have travelled to nearby Tudeley woods. Police released an image of Joanna as part of the search, but sadly, on the morning of May 2, a woman's body was found in woodland near Half Moon Lane.
Search Efforts and Community Response
The search for Joanna involved extensive efforts by Kent Police and local volunteers. Officers had been conducting door-to-door inquiries and using specialist search teams to scour the area. The discovery of the body has brought a tragic end to the search.
Appeal for Information
Authorities have urged anyone with information about Joanna's movements prior to her disappearance to come forward. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause.
This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
