A 22-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police, suspected of the murder of a 15-year-old boy in North London. The arrest on Boxing Day culminated an intensive, two-week search for the suspect.
Details of the Fatal Attack
Abdel Dedour, aged 22, was detained by officers on 26 December. His arrest is connected to the death of Adam Henry, who was fatally stabbed near Westbourne Road in Islington. The incident occurred around 1pm on Monday, 9 December.
Emergency services, including police and London Ambulance Service paramedics, rushed to the scene. Adam was transported to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.
Boxing Day Raid and Further Arrests
The arrest was part of a coordinated operation at an address in north-west London. In total, five individuals were taken into custody on Boxing Day.
Alongside Dedour, three men and a woman, aged between 18 and 47, were detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. The 47-year-old woman faced an additional arrest for assaulting a police officer, while a 39-year-old man was further arrested for domestic violence and driving offences. All five remain in police custody as of Saturday.
Ongoing Investigation and Family Tribute
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, stated: "Our thoughts remain with Adam’s loved ones throughout this unimaginably difficult time. There is no place for senseless acts of violence on our streets – and those responsible for such crimes should be brought to justice."
He praised his team for their tireless work over the preceding weeks. Another individual, Tsidi Winion, 20, from Camden, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on 15 December and is set to face trial next year.
In a heartfelt statement, Adam's family remembered him as a "good natured and loyal" teenager with many interests. They said he was "always there with a smile and cheeky sense of humour," describing him as a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. "We will never recover from the loss and not having him in our lives," they added. Specialist officers continue to support the family.
