A woman from Ohio has reported a frightening incident where she believes her car was deliberately shot at while she was driving, an act she attributes to her politically-charged personalised licence plate.
The Alleged Highway Attack
The woman, identified by local news as Jody, stated the event occurred on Monday evening as she was driving on a highway in the Cincinnati area. She told local Fox affiliate WXIX that she first became aware of a black car with tinted windows tailing her vehicle.
Jody recalled accelerating to create distance, at which point she heard a distinct 'pop pop' sound and felt an impact on her car. The mysterious vehicle then overtook her and sped away. It was only upon arriving home that she discovered what she believes are two dents from a small-calibre weapon in her bumper.
Motivation Linked to Licence Plate
Jody is convinced she was targeted because of her licence plate, which prominently reads 'MAGAGRL' – a clear reference to the 'Make America Great Again' slogan associated with former President Donald Trump. She confessed to WXIX that she did not understand why someone would fire at her vehicle simply for her political support.
While she admitted to previously experiencing taunts and negative reactions from other drivers due to the plate, she emphasised that this alleged shooting represented a terrifying and dangerous escalation.
Aftermath and Police Investigation
Jody reported the incident to the Springfield Township Police Department, who are now investigating the claims. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the alleged shooting, and Jody said she could not identify the driver of the other vehicle.
Reflecting on the potential danger, Jody told reporters, 'Anything could have happened last night... I could have crashed, I could have been hit if they hit my window.' She described feeling a mix of anger and emotion, but stated her primary focus was now on repairing the damage.
The Daily Mail has contacted Springfield Township Police for further comment and information regarding the ongoing investigation.
