Teenager Plunges 40 Feet in Alleged Attack by Partner
An 18-year-old girl was thrown from a fourth-floor window by her 'abusive and controlling' boyfriend in a brutal attack that nearly killed her, a court has been told. The incident occurred at Merton House in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, Birmingham, with the victim falling almost 40 feet onto a grass verge below.
Graphic CCTV Footage Shown to Jury
Jurors at the trial were shown distressing CCTV footage from the apartment block, which captured the moment the teenager's body hit the ground and bounced. The prosecution alleged that her boyfriend, Jordan Herring, attempted to murder her during the violent altercation on 13 January 2026.
Following the fall, the critically injured young woman required an air ambulance to transport her to hospital for emergency treatment. The case has highlighted the extreme dangers of coercive and controlling relationships.
Case Proceeds as a Stark Warning
The court heard how Herring's behaviour was described as 'controlling' prior to the alleged attack. This case brings the severe consequences of domestic abuse into sharp focus, demonstrating how quickly it can escalate to life-threatening violence.
The trial continues as the justice system examines the harrowing evidence, including the pivotal security camera recordings that documented the fall. The community in Solihull has been left shocked by the severity of the alleged crime.
