Anastasiia Berezovska, the 39-year-old Ukrainian woman wanted for the attempted assassination of Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Yermolayev in Monaco, has reportedly been found shot dead near Kyiv. The development comes after days on the run following the June 30 explosion outside Yermolayev's property.
Attack Details and Initial Investigation
Vadim Yermolayev, 58, was seriously injured in the explosion, which also left two others hospitalized. Interpol identified Berezovska as the suspect, initially believed to be a man but later determined to be a disguise. An arrest warrant was issued, and she was suspected of fleeing on foot before driving to Germany.
Interpol Red Notice
An Interpol Red Notice issued on Friday stated Berezovska was wanted for attempted murder, placing an explosive device in a public place with criminal intent, and criminal conspiracy. The notice indicated she was born in Ukraine, spoke German, and last resided in Germany. It described her as having dark hair and a tattoo, possibly of a snake, on her right arm from shoulder to elbow.
Death Near Kyiv
According to Ukrainian news site Pravda, citing sources, Berezovska has been found shot dead near Kyiv. Two suspects have been detained in connection with her death: one is a current officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, and the other is a former law enforcement officer.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Berezovska's death and its connection to the Monaco attack. The case remains under active development.
