Harry Wilson to Leeds United: Announcement Imminent as Deal Confirmed
Harry Wilson Leeds Announcement Imminent This Week

Leeds United are poised to finally confirm the signing of Harry Wilson, nearly two weeks after the club agreed a deal with the Wales international. The 29-year-old attacker, whose contract with Fulham expired at the end of June, has reportedly agreed a four-year contract with a higher salary at Elland Road.

Wilson's Impressive Season at Fulham

Wilson enjoyed a stellar 2025-26 campaign with Fulham, scoring 10 Premier League goals and providing seven assists. His performances earned him the club's official Player of the Season award and attracted interest from Everton and Aston Villa, but Leeds won the race for his signature.

Announcement Expected This Week

Fans have been waiting for the official unveiling, which has yet to take place. However, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth has provided an update. Asked on Monday if the deal would be announced that day, Smyth wrote on X: "Not today. Middle of the week I think." He added that the deal is "over the line," with the contract agreed and other formalities completed. "It's basically just media duties and announcement now. Which happens this week," Smyth said.

Previous Collapse and Current Certainty

The anxious wait comes after a similar deal for Wilson collapsed on the final day of last summer's transfer window when a deal sheet was not completed before the 7pm deadline. This time, there is no cause for concern, with the 69-cap Wales international set to join Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, and Daniel James as part of Leeds' Welsh contingent.

Other Transfer Activity at Leeds

Leeds are also working on other deals. Goalkeeper Karl Darlow may stay if he agrees a new contract, despite interest from Manchester United and Everton. The uncertainty over Darlow's future has affected Leeds' pursuit of Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who reportedly turned down a move to Elland Road. Additionally, Leeds are pursuing midfielder Julian Brandt after his departure from Borussia Dortmund and Juventus centre-back Lloyd Kelly. Talks with Southampton over midfielder Shea Charles appear to have ended, with Leeds now in negotiations with Parma for midfielder Mandela Keita.
