Kent Police have launched an urgent public appeal to help trace a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen at a railway station in freezing conditions late at night.
Details of the Disappearance
Maisie Cornish was last seen at Maidstone train station in Kent at around 11pm on Tuesday, 30 December. Officers believe the teenager may have subsequently boarded a train bound for London. Concerns for her welfare are heightened due to her young age and the bitterly cold weather at the time she went missing.
Description and Appeal for Information
Maisie is described as being approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall with straight blonde hair and blue eyes. When she was last seen, she is thought to have been wearing a grey tracksuit, a black bodywarmer, and light brown New Balance trainers.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Maisie, either at the station or elsewhere, to come forward immediately. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have travelled on services from Maidstone towards London on Tuesday night or in the early hours of Wednesday.
Ongoing Search Operation
The search for Maisie Cornish is ongoing and involves multiple police resources. Authorities are checking CCTV footage from the station and surrounding areas and are liaising with transport police and other forces, especially given the potential London connection.
Anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is asked to contact Kent Police without delay, quoting the relevant reference number. The public are asked to share this appeal widely to aid the search efforts.
