Suspect Charged and Due in Court

Northamptonshire Police confirmed that Fuad Mohamud, 21, of Thorn Hill Walk, Briar Hill, has been charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. Authorities were called to the property after the alarm was raised, but Khadeem could not be saved and died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination later revealed that the teenager had suffered a fatal stab wound. Detectives launched a murder investigation and stated that they believe the attack was targeted. Three other individuals—a 19-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 51-year-old woman, all from Northampton—were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Family Pays Tribute to 'Funny, Smiling Boy'

Khadeem's devastated family paid tribute to him, describing him as a resilient young man who was excited about the future. In a moving statement, they said: "Khadeem was such a funny, smiling boy. He was always singing, he loved a joke, and he was such a kind son – he had a kindness inside of him. He had such strength too. He had coped with such a lot in his young life and he was making plans and so looking forward to the future. He was ready and excited to be starting college in August to study to be a plumber and electrician, and really wanted to make the most of the opportunities open to him."

The tribute also highlighted Khadeem's love of computer games and football, as well as the special bond he shared with his older brother and younger sister. His family added: "Words can't explain how we feel at this time. We cannot understand it and we are utterly heartbroken at his loss. Khadeem, we love you, we miss you and you will always be in our hearts."

Context of Recent Teen Stabbings in Scotland

Khadeem's death follows a series of devastating fatal stabbings involving Scottish teenagers over the past two years. In May 2024, 16-year-old Kory McCrimmon died after being stabbed in the heart during a confrontation in Greenfield Park in Glasgow's east end. A 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was later detained for five years after admitting culpable homicide.

Less than a year later, 15-year-old Amen Teklay died after being found seriously injured on a street in Glasgow's Maryhill. Two boys, aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were found not guilty of his murder last Monday following a trial. Just weeks after Amen's death, 16-year-old Kayden Moy was chased and stabbed at Irvine Beach in Ayrshire before later dying in hospital. Jay Stewart, 18, and a 15-year-old boy were found guilty of his murder, while 18-year-old Cole Turley had already admitted his role before the trial last month.
