Travel Advice for Summer Holidays
With the school holidays about to begin, Manchester Airport is preparing for its busiest travel period of the year. Thousands of families are expected to fly to destinations such as Spain, France, Greece, and Turkey. Passengers are reminded that the 100ml liquid restriction in hand luggage remains in place, despite new CT security scanners being installed. Liquids and electronic devices can stay in cabin bags during security checks.
For those traveling to European destinations, the EU's new Entry/Exit System (EES) requires third-country nationals, including Brits, to provide biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) and have their passport scanned to create a digital record valid for three years. Children under 12 do not need fingerprints but must have their photograph taken and details recorded.
Passengers are advised to monitor flight status regularly, as schedules can change at the last minute.
