An 88-year-old woman has died following a collision involving her car on a residential street in Harrogate, North Yorkshire Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to St Winifred's Road at around 11:35am on Sunday, 31 May 2026, following reports of a crash. The incident involved a silver Toyota Yaris being driven by the woman and a black Tesla that was parked on the road at the time.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the driver of the Toyota Yaris was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The road was closed for several hours while specialist collision investigators carried out enquiries and recovery work. Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: 'We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police, to get in touch and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision or moments leading up to it.'
