Maxi-Cosi has issued a voluntary recall for its Family Fix Slide Pro Base car seat due to a faulty safety indicator that could lead to injuries. The recall, listed on the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) website, warns that the indicator may show green even when the seat is not fully attached to the base, potentially causing the seat to move or detach.
The affected products were manufactured in China between 6 September 2024 and 24 March 2026. The OPSS states that the product fails to comply with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. Parents are urged to stop using the base immediately and check if their product is affected via the manufacturer's website.
Maxi-Cosi said in a statement: 'Your child's safety drives every decision we make... We have initiated a voluntary product recall as part of our ongoing commitment to the highest possible standards of child safety.' Customers can verify their product by entering the model reference and manufacturing date, found on a white label on the underside of the base.
Sue Davies, head of consumer protection policy at Which?, commented: 'It is incredibly concerning that Maxi-Cosi is recalling this car seat base due to a risk that it could cause the seat to move or detach during use. Anyone with a Maxi-Cosi car seat should use the brand's online tool to check if their car seat is affected, and if so, stop using it immediately.'
