Three major Tube lines are partly suspended on Tuesday after a signal failure at Mansion House, causing travel disruption across London. The Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines are all affected, with no service clockwise on the Circle line, the District line closed between Barking and Earl's Court, and the Hammersmith & City line shut between Barking and Liverpool Street.
Elizabeth line and M25 disruption
Severe delays continue on much of the Elizabeth line due to a faulty train at Hayes & Harlington. Tickets are being accepted on London Underground, London Buses, Great Western Railway and South Western Railway services via any reasonable route. Earlier, a vehicle hitting a bridge in the Langley area caused trains to run at reduced speed, affecting services between London Paddington and Reading.
On the M25, multiple incidents have caused major congestion. A collision on the anticlockwise carriageway before Junction 29 for the A127 has left the road partially blocked, and a second crash involving a lorry and a car is causing delays at Junction 27. There are reported backlogs of around 45 minutes between Junction 9 and Junction 10 clockwise, with further delays between Junction 12 and Junction 16. Two additional incidents occurred on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 8 at Reigate and Junction 10 at the Wisley Interchange, and on the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 14 for Heathrow and Junction 13 for Staines.
Other line delays and tram suspension
Severe delays are also reported on the Piccadilly line between King's Cross St. Pancras and Acton Town westbound only due to an earlier faulty train, with tickets accepted on London Buses, Elizabeth line and Great Northern Railway. The District line has minor delays between Earls Court and Wimbledon and between Upminster and Tower Hill eastbound only due to train cancellations.
London Tramlink has no service all day between Arena and Elmers End due to a track fault at Lebanon Road. Normal traffic conditions on the M25 are expected within the hour.
