Ryanair Check-In Rule Change: 60-Minute Deadline From Nov 10

Ryanair will close its check-in desks 60 minutes before scheduled departure for all flights from November 10, 2026, a reduction of 20 minutes from the current 40-minute deadline. Passengers who fail to check in by this time may be denied boarding without a refund, according to the airline's updated terms.

New Check-In Deadline Details

The change applies to all passengers flying from that date onward. Ryanair stated: "For all passengers flying from 10 November 2026 onwards, the check-in desks close strictly 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time unless you are notified otherwise before flight departure. If you do not complete check-in by then you may be denied boarding without refund."

This gives travellers 20 minutes less time to complete check-in at the airport if they have not done so online. Those who miss the online check-in window face an additional charge. "If you do not complete check-in online more than 2 hours before the scheduled departure time, you will be charged the airport check-in fee set out in our table of fees," the airline warned under its 'General terms & conditions of carriage'. Passengers who booked a Plus or Flexi Plus ticket before August 14, 2025, can check in at the airport free of charge.

Online Check-In Options

Ryanair continues to offer online check-in, which opens 60 days before departure for passengers who have purchased an allocated seat. Customers can be allocated a seat free of charge if they check in online between 24 and 2 hours before each booked flight. However, online check-in is not available during the 2 hours before the flight's scheduled departure time, as stated on the airline's website.

UK Airport Liquid Rules

Separately, several UK airports have upgraded security screening equipment, allowing travellers to carry up to 2 litres of liquids through security without separating them from hand luggage. Airports including Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick, and London Heathrow have eased the 100ml restriction. However, many others, such as Aberdeen, Cardiff, Liverpool, and Manchester, still require liquids to be 100ml or less. Rules vary by airport, so passengers are advised to check directly with their departure and arrival airports for specific requirements.
