Manchester Airport is experiencing a busy period as the summer holidays continue, with several flights delayed on Thursday, August 20. No cancellations have been reported so far today, according to FlightRadar24.com.
Busiest Summer on Record
July was the second busiest travel month ever recorded at the airport, with more than 3.3 million passengers using the hub. Predictions at the start of summer suggested this would be the busiest season on record, with over 5.7 million passengers expected to fly in and out between Friday, July 17, and the end of the holidays on September 1.
Antalya in Turkey and Palma in Majorca have been the most popular destinations as travellers return to reliable holiday spots.
Guidance for Passengers
Passengers have been urged to arrive at least two hours before a scheduled flight, and three hours for long-haul flights, to allow enough time for check-in and security. Extra bag checks can cause delays, and passengers are reminded that items such as liquids over 100ml, multi-tools, large squishy toys, and lithium batteries in hold luggage are banned.
