Passengers flying from Manchester Airport with easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair or Emirates this October half term face different check-in requirements, with some airlines enforcing online check-in and charging fees for airport check-in.
easyJet Check-in Windows
easyJet passengers can check in online or through the mobile app using their booking reference or the 'Manage Bookings' section, where they can also make changes to their booking. Check-in opens 30 days before departure and closes two hours before the flight. Boarding passes can be downloaded or printed for all flights, and passengers may need their passport or identity card and must confirm their contact details.
Jet2 and Ryanair Requirements
Jet2 online check-in opens 28 days before the flight and closes six hours before departure. Passengers are urged to print boarding passes or download them to their mobile phone. Jet2 check-in desks open at least two and a half hours before departure and close 40 minutes before the scheduled time. Check-in can be completed on the jet2.com website or mobile app.
Ryanair passengers are recommended to check in online via the app or website. Airport check-in is available but incurs a per-person fee of £30 to £40. Online check-in opens 60 days before departure for those with a pre-reserved seat, or 24 hours before for those without, and closes two hours before the flight. Passengers need a passport or National Identity Card.
Emirates Check-in Options
Emirates offers online and app-based check-in up to 48 hours before the flight, as well as in-person check-in at a desk with staff. The airline advises there is a check-in area for each travel class or Emirates Skywards membership tier, and staff assist with bag check-in and sending mobile boarding passes to email. At most airports, check-in opens three hours before departure, though it can be up to four hours at some airports, so passengers should check their ticket for the best arrival time.
