Man in 60s injured after car hits post in Gateshead crash

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after a car crashed into a post at a roundabout in Gateshead. Emergency services were called to Coalhouse Roundabout shortly after 2.15am on Friday.

Collision on A1

Northumbria Police received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the A1 at the Coalhouse Roundabout. It was reported that a car had collided with a post at the roundabout.

Emergency services attended and found a man, aged in his 60s, had sustained minor injuries. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

Ambulance response

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) was called to the road traffic incident on the A1 near Team Valley shortly after 2am on 9 October. A double crewed ambulance was dispatched, and one patient was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
