Four lanes out of five have been shut on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between junction 13 (Staines-upon-Thames) and junction 14 (Heathrow Airport) due to a broken-down lorry, causing severe delays for drivers heading towards the airport.
Recovery vehicles have rushed to the scene, and motorway traffic camera footage shows traffic is quickly building on the approach.
35-minute delays and four miles of congestion
Drivers have been warned they face delays of 35 minutes and four miles of traffic on approach to the broken-down vehicle.
National Highways wrote on X: "4 lanes (of 5) on the #M25 clockwise between J13 #StainesuponThames and J14 @HeathrowAirport are closed due to a broken down lorry. Recovery is on scene. There are delays of 35 minutes and 4 miles of congestion on the approach."
