Areas around Liverpool have been left with no water after two city roads flooded on Wednesday, August 19, due to a reported burst water pipe.
Ongoing repairs and water pressure variations
On Thursday, August 20, a spokesperson for United Utilities confirmed that some customers may continue to experience variations in water pressure over the coming hours, expecting services to gradually return to normal.
An update issued on the United Utilities website says: "We are continuing our repair works to the burst on Prescot Road, all customers should have water.
"While this work continues, some customers may notice changes in water pressure at busy times or some temporary discolouration of their water. This is because we are using different routes through our network to keep water flowing to homes and businesses."
The statement adds: "We're really sorry for the disruption that this may have caused to you, we're working as quickly and as safely as possible to get things back to normal. Thank you for your continued patience."
Affected postcodes
The following postcodes are experiencing either no water, poor pressure, or discoloured water: L1, L3, L6, L7, L8, and L17.
The current status on the United Utilities website says: "We’re currently investigating an issue in your area which means you may have no water supply. As soon as the issue is identified, we'll get the right team planned to fix this. We're really sorry for any inconvenience and hope to have your taps flowing again very soon."
Customers can check if their address is affected using the United Utilities website.
