National Highways has confirmed several overnight closures on Greater Manchester's motorways this weekend, including sections of the M6, M60 and M62. The closures are planned between Friday, 21 August, and Sunday, 23 August. Sections of the M56, M67 and A34 are also set to be shut to traffic.
Friday, 21 August Closures
On Friday, the M62 Eastbound will be closed between Jct 22 and Jct 24 from 20:00 to 06:00, with entry and exit slip road closures at Jct 22, Jct 23 and Jct 24. The M62 Westbound will also be closed between Jct 24 and Jct 22 during the same hours, with slip road closures at Jct 24, Jct 23 and Jct 22.
The M60 will see multiple closures. Clockwise, the Jct 7 exit and entry slip roads will be closed from 20:00 to 06:00. Anti-clockwise, Jct 7 exit and entry slip roads will also close from 20:00 to 06:00, while Jct 1 and Jct 27 exit and entry slip roads will close from 21:00 to 06:00.
On the M6 Southbound, the link road to the M1 will be closed from 20:00 to 06:00, and the Jct 20 entry slip road will close from 21:00 to 06:00. The M6 Northbound will see a carriageway closure between Jct 27 and 28 from 23:00 to 06:00, along with slip road closures at Jct 27 and Jct 28.
The M61 Northbound will be closed between Jct 4 and 5 from 21:00 to 06:00, with slip road closures at Jct 4 and Jct 5. The M61 Southbound will be closed between Jct 3 and 2 from 22:00 to 06:00.
Other closures on Friday include the M56 Westbound, with slip road closures at Jct 6 and Jct 10, and a carriageway closure between Jct 15 and 16, all from 21:00 to 06:00. The M67 Eastbound and Westbound will be closed between Jct 3 and 4 from 20:00 to 06:00. The M66 Southbound will be closed between Jct 3 and 4 from 21:00 to 06:00.
Saturday, 22 August Closures
On Saturday, the M60 Clockwise will see a carriageway closure between Jct 6 and 9 from 22:30 to 06:00, with slip road closures at Jct 7, Jct 8 and Jct 9. The M60 Anti-clockwise will have an entry slip road closure at Jct 18 from 21:00 to 06:00, and an exit slip road closure at Jct 24 from 21:00 to 06:00.
The M6 Northbound will be closed between Jct 17 and 18 from 22:00 to 05:00, with slip road closures at Jct 17 and Jct 18. The M6 Northbound will also be closed between Jct 39 and 40 from 22:00 to 06:00, with the Jct 39 entry slip road closed.
The M61 Southbound will have an exit slip road closure at Jct 3 from 21:00 to 05:00, and the M61 Northbound will have a slip road closure at Jct 3 to the A666 from 21:00 to 05:00.
On the M62 Westbound, the carriageway between Jct 35 and the M18 southbound Jct 7 will be closed from 20:00 to 06:00.
Sunday, 23 August Closures
On Sunday, the M60 Clockwise will again be closed between Jct 6 and 9 from 22:30 to 06:00, with the same slip road closures as Saturday. The M60 Anti-clockwise will have an exit slip road closure at Jct 2 from 21:00 to 06:00, and an entry slip road closure at Jct 3 from 21:00 to 06:00.
The M6 Northbound will be closed between Jct 17 and 18 from 22:00 to 05:00, with slip road closures at Jct 17 and Jct 18. The M6 Southbound will be closed between Jct 40 and 39 from 22:00 to 06:00, with the Jct 40 entry slip road closed. The M6 Northbound will also have an exit slip road closure at Jct 32 from 22:00 to 06:00.
The M56 Westbound will be closed between Jct 7 and 9 from 22:00 to 06:00, with the Jct 8 entry slip road closed. The M56 Westbound to M6 Northbound link road will also be closed from 22:00 to 06:00.
On the M62, the Eastbound carriageway between the exit and entry slip roads at Jct 26 will be closed from 22:00 to 05:00. The M62 Eastbound to M18 Southbound link road will be closed from 20:00 to 06:00, and the M62 Westbound to M18 Southbound link road will also be closed from 20:00 to 06:00. The M62 Eastbound to M60 Anti-clockwise link road will be closed from 21:00 to 06:00.
