National Highways has confirmed a series of overnight closures on motorways across Greater Manchester between Monday 12 October and Thursday 15 October. Sections of the M6, M60, M62, M56, M61, M67, M602 and M66 will be shut to traffic, along with parts of the A56 and A580.
Monday 12 October closures
On Monday, closures include the M60 clockwise and anticlockwise slip roads at junctions 3, 9, 11 and 21, and the M61 northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 5. The M62 westbound carriageway between junctions 10 and 9 will be closed, as will the M67 eastbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4.
Link road closures on Monday include the M6 southbound to M56 eastbound and westbound from Lymm, the M6 northbound and southbound to M62 westbound, and the M61 southbound to M60 clockwise. The M56 westbound to M53 northbound link will also be closed.
Tuesday and Wednesday closures
On Tuesday, the M62 eastbound carriageway between junctions 10 and 11 will be closed, along with the M60 clockwise slip roads at junctions 3, 8, 19 and 22. The M6 southbound junction 23 entry slip road and junction 18 exit slip road will be shut.
Wednesday sees the M60 anticlockwise carriageway closure between junctions 24 and 23 from 23:45 to 06:00, and the M62 eastbound carriageway closure between junctions 22 and 24 from 21:00 to 06:00. The M6 southbound to M56 eastbound and westbound link from Lymm will close again.
Thursday 15 October closures
On Thursday, the M62 eastbound carriageway between junctions 22 and 24 will close, along with the M62 westbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 10. The M60 anticlockwise carriageway between junctions 24 and 23 will close from 23:59, and the M602 westbound to M60 anticlockwise link will be shut.
The M66 southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 will close, and the M61 southbound to M60 anticlockwise link will be shut. The A56 southbound carriageway from M65 junction 8 to Rising Bridge will close from 21:00 to 05:00. All closures are overnight, with most running from around 20:00 or 21:00 until 05:00 or 06:00 the following morning.
