Emergency Services Respond to Track Casualty at Hammersmith Station

Emergency services descended on Hammersmith Underground Station in London on Tuesday morning following reports of a casualty on the track. The station was evacuated, and severe delays were reported on the Piccadilly and District lines.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed the incident, stating that there were severe delays on the Piccadilly Line between Acton Town and Rayners Lane or Heathrow Airport, with minor delays elsewhere. The District Line also experienced delays between Earl's Court and Ealing Broadway.

Witnesses reported seeing multiple emergency vehicles, including three ambulances, three fire engines, two police cars, and two Incident Response Units. Nick Soar, a witness, described paramedics rushing into the station with equipment at around 8:36 am.

TfL advised passengers to use alternative routes, accepting tickets on London Buses, the Elizabeth line, London Overground, and South Western Railway. The station has since reopened, and services have resumed, though residual delays may persist.
