As a result, services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised." The fire prompted an immediate evacuation of the station, with West Midlands Railway also issuing a statement on X: "Birmingham New Street evacuated."

All train services through Birmingham New Street are affected, with passengers warned to expect cancellations and revisions. To mitigate disruption, ticket acceptance has been arranged with West Midlands buses (NX West Midlands) on the following routes: Birmingham to Wolverhampton (both directions), Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield (both directions), and Birmingham to Longbridge (both directions).
