Virgin Voyages has launched a new cruise aimed at true crime enthusiasts, offering a five-night voyage with live podcast recordings and Halloween-inspired events. The adult-only cruise line has partnered with iHeartPodcasts for the True Crime Voyage, which departs from Miami on 10 October aboard the Valiant Lady.
Guests will be able to watch live recordings of shows such as Betrayal, which explores stories of trust and justice, and Buried Bones, hosted by forensic investigator Paul Holes and true crime historian Kate Winkler Dawson. The itinerary also includes behind-the-scenes workshops and meet-and-greets with top podcast hosts.
The sailing will feature a lineup of Halloween events, including costume contests, bar crawls, eerie entertainment and a special edition of the ship's Happenings Cast show. Prices start from £1,265 per cabin based on two people sharing.
Nicole Huang, senior vice president of fleet experiences at Virgin Voyages, said: 'We're always looking for ways to craft experiences as bold and original as our sailors. This True Crime Voyage is a perfect expression of that, blending the intrigue of incredible storytelling with the indulgence of elevated travel.'
In addition to the true crime cruise, Virgin Voyages also offers a comedy cruise from Portsmouth in August, while other operators including Marella and MSC Cruises have launched themed sailings focusing on 1990s music and rugby respectively.
