British holiday company TUI has announced an exciting expansion of its flight network with three new direct routes to the sun-drenched Greek island of Kos. The new services will operate from Bournemouth, Exeter and London Stansted airports, providing travellers across southern England with convenient access to this Mediterranean paradise.
New Flight Routes and Schedule Details
In a significant move for regional connectivity, TUI will operate direct flights to Kos from Bournemouth and Exeter for the very first time. Meanwhile, the London Stansted route, which hasn't run since 2019, is making a welcome return with twice-weekly flights scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays.
Neil Swanson, managing director at TUI UK and Ireland, explained the decision: "These new routes to Kos follow a rise in demand for this picturesque island, which is one of our customers' favourite Greek destinations. By launching services from Bournemouth and Exeter for the first time, and reinstating our popular London Stansted route, we're making it easier than ever for customers across the South of England to enjoy an unforgettable Greek island holiday."
Why Kos Makes the Perfect Getaway
The island of Kos offers an appealing blend of attractions that cater to diverse holiday preferences. Currently enjoying pleasant November temperatures around 24°C, the island provides a welcome escape from the British autumn chill. During peak summer months, temperatures typically reach a balmy 27°C, making it ideal for sun-seekers.
Beyond the climate, Kos presents excellent value for money with average beer prices around £3.50 and ice cream costing approximately £2.60. The island is particularly renowned for its cycling-friendly infrastructure, earning it the nickname 'cycling island' thanks to numerous dedicated paths that crisscross the 30-mile landmass.
Cultural Riches and Holiday Packages
History enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, including the ancient Asklepieion sanctuary, the Roman Odeon, and the medieval Neratzia Castle. For breathtaking sunset views, visitors often head to the mountain village of Zia to watch the sun dip below the horizon.
TUI is offering flexible holiday packages to accommodate different preferences and budgets:
