British travel company Tripsmiths and its sister firm TS Travel have been placed into administration, but holidaymakers can rest assured that existing bookings will be honoured. Administrators were appointed on May 14, and the business and assets were immediately sold to The Travel Network Group, which will now operate the firm as 'Tripsmiths Travel'.
The company specialised in group tours to destinations including French vineyards, African safaris, Italy's Lake Garda, and UK trips such as the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and rides on the Jacobite steam train. All current and future holidays are proceeding as planned, according to a company spokesperson.
Customer money is held securely in a trust account and guaranteed by the Travel Trust Association. Employees of the companies transferred to the new owner under TUPE regulations. The Travel Network Group confirmed that all bookings will be honoured.
