Travel Tuesday, the post-Thanksgiving sales event dedicated to holidays, falls on 2 December this year. Originally coined by booking platform Hopper in 2017, the day has grown rapidly, with McKinsey reporting search interest up over 500 per cent from 2021 to 2023. Simon Calder, travel correspondent for The Independent, noted: “In the short term, the dying days of November and the first two weeks of December comprise the lowest of seasons when the airlines cut fares to whatever level they need to fill their planes.”
Several travel companies are offering significant discounts. Jet2 is running an automatic 20 per cent discount on all flights booked by 2 December, with travel completed by 31 October 2027. Additionally, 50,000 seats are available for one-way travel at £50 or less for journeys between 6 November 2025 and 31 March 2026. British Airways has a Black Friday sale offering up to £300 off flight and hotel packages, with bookings expiring on 2 December.
EasyJet is offering £50 off holidays over £500, £100 off over £800 and £200 off over £2,000 using code ‘BLACKFRIDAY’ until 11pm on 2 December. Package holiday deals include up to £400 off selected trips from TUI (no specific tour operator named, but the text mentions “get up to £400 off selected package holidays”), and customers can get up to 20 per cent off trips to Morocco, Vietnam and Peru until 4 December.
For accommodation, hotel chain Yotel is offering up to 40 per cent off stays at select properties worldwide, including London Stratford, Manchester Deansgate and Edinburgh, booked between 19 November and 3 December for stays until 31 November 2026. Hostel brand Generator is offering 33 per cent off stays of three nights or more across European locations, using code STAY33, until 31 March 2026. Hard Rock is offering up to 55 per cent off all-inclusive stays until 7 December.
Transport deals include Red Funnel Ferries, travelling between Southampton and the Isle of Wight, with a third off private vehicle travel until 2 November 2026, plus day return fares for £44. Priority Pass is offering 40 per cent off standard membership and 25 per cent off Standard Plus membership, valid until 7 December, giving access to over 1,800 airport lounges.
