Travel expert Rory King has named Malta as the best value for money destination in Europe, describing the country as "absolutely beautiful" and noting it enjoys up to 300 days of sunshine a year.
Four nights from £250 a head
Speaking exclusively to the Express, King said: "For me, the best value for money in Europe is Malta. You can go to Malta, with flights, transfers and four nights in a decent hotel for around £250 to £300 a head."
He added: "Malta is absolutely stunning, it's known to have up to 300 days of sunshine a year, lots of Brits are going there, so I'd say if you haven't been there, I'd highly recommend it. It's an absolutely beautiful country."
What Malta offers visitors
Malta lies just over three hours from the UK and is one of Europe's sunniest countries, boasting crystal clear blue waters, stunning coastlines, charming towns, and lively cities. Often described as the 'Jewel of the Mediterranean', the capital, Valletta, is a fortified city with quaint cobblestone lanes, grand Baroque palaces, tranquil gardens, and historic churches, and is home to a historic port among the 'world's most beautiful'.
Prices are remarkably reasonable. While package holidays can cost around £250 per person, visitors can pick up a traditional Maltese savoury pastry, called Pastizzi, for just 90p, or a wrap from just £4 for a convenient lunch.
