Scotland's 10 Most Hospitable Towns

Travel experts at WorldAtlas have identified Scotland's ten most hospitable towns, where visitors can expect friendly locals and welcoming food and drink venues. The list highlights destinations across the country where hospitality is described as second nature.

Pitlochry: A Victorian Welcome

Pitlochry in Perth and Kinross is among the friendliest places in Scotland. Situated along the River Tummel, this Victorian town became a popular tourist destination after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited in 1842. WorldAtlas praised Pitlochry for its relaxed atmosphere, attractions like the historic Blair Athol Distillery and the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and easy access to walks and beauty spots such as the Loch Faskally reservoir.

The travel experts wrote: "Pitlochry has welcomed Highland travellers since the Victorian era, and the town still seems designed for taking one's time and staying awhile. Visitors can tour Blair Athol Distillery, one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries, walk beside Loch Faskally, or watch salmon leap through the fish ladder at the Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre."
