Football Star's Property Move After Noisy Party Incident
Premier League champion Phil Foden has successfully sold his luxurious Cheshire mansion for close to £3million, though the Manchester City midfielder was forced to accept a substantial reduction from his original asking price.
The 25-year-old England international initially placed the stunning four-bedroom property on the market in April with a £3.25million price tag, but after more than six months without a buyer, he reluctantly dropped the asking price to just over £2.9million. Estate agents Jackson-Stops have confirmed the property has now been 'sold subject to contract' at a figure close to this reduced amount.
Luxury Features and Celebrity Neighbours
The detached modern home, situated down a private road with electric security gates in the upmarket village of Prestbury, boasts an impressive array of luxury amenities that failed to attract immediate interest despite their premium appeal.
Among the property's standout features are a private cinema, indoor swimming pool, ground-floor leisure suite, dedicated gym, bar area, and hot tub. The extensive gardens contain both a swing and trampoline, making it an ideal family home.
The property sits among prestigious neighbours, including Slade singer Noddy Holder and TV antiques expert David Dickinson. Until recently, Foden's former Manchester City teammate Kyle Walker's family lived next door, though Walker now plays for Premier League newcomers Burnley after marital difficulties.
Party Problems Prompt Relocation
Foden had already relocated with his family to a more isolated countryside property before the sale completed, having moved out last year following a particularly raucous party in August that prompted police involvement.
Neighbours described the late-night gathering as 'louder than Glastonbury', with booming gangster rap music that prompted one resident to dial 999, complaining the noise was 'like being in a nightclub'. The event reportedly began around 4pm and continued until nearly midnight, featuring music from Snoop Dog and Queen Latifah.
This wasn't the first time Foden's entertaining had caused disturbance – in March 2022 he also received noise complaints after hosting a Mother's Day 'music festival' at the property where Whitney Houston hits were blasted through a PA system.
Despite these incidents, neighbours generally spoke fondly of the footballer and his family. One local commented: 'They are a lovely family and Phil and Rebecca seem devoted parents. I saw them take Ronnie out on a bike he'd been given for Christmas and they seemed just like a young family having fun.'
Foden shares the home with his childhood sweetheart Rebecca Cooke, 24, and their three children, including six-year-old Ronnie and daughter True. The couple are believed to have got engaged recently after Rebecca was spotted wearing a large diamond ring following a romantic New Year trip to Paris.
The England midfielder, who briefly left the Euro 2024 camp in Germany to fly home for the birth of his third child, continues to excel professionally as the youngest player to win six league titles and a Champions League winner after Manchester City's 2023 victory over Inter Milan.
In a related property move, Foden's mother has also decided to put her house in the same village on the market, just a week after being subjected to disgusting abuse from Manchester United fans during last season's Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
