A small Sydney deli that won the heart of celebrity chef Nigella Lawson with its 'outrageously good' sandwiches has announced it will close its doors on 7th September.
Small's Deli, located at 166 Victoria Street in Potts Point, has built a cult following since opening in 2020. The pint-sized shop, known for its gourmet sandwiches like the Comrade Ovo and Bon Jambon, will serve its last meal on Father's Day.
The owners cited a desire for a 'long break with family' as the reason for closure, stating they had not found the right person to take over the business. They remain on good terms with the landlord and are open to future pop-ups or collaborations.
The deli gained international fame in May when Nigella Lawson praised The Toto sandwich on Instagram, describing it as 'outrageously good'. The sandwich features mortadella, mozzarella, lemony butter bean purée, pesto, toasted almonds, and rocket.
Fans have been urged to visit before the closure, with the team promising to 'leave Victoria St on a high'. The deli is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30am to 2:30pm, and Sundays until 2:00pm.
