A British holidaymaker is urging travellers to consider Liechtenstein, one of Europe's least visited countries, for their next trip. Reanna from Dorset shared her experience on Instagram, calling it a 'bucket list destination' that should be on everyone's European radar. The country, nestled between Austria and Switzerland, covers just 160 square kilometres and sees only around 100,000 tourists annually, according to Statista.
Despite its small size, Liechtenstein is packed with charm, history, and stunning landscapes. Its capital, Vaduz, is home to the royal family and offers a blend of modernity and tradition. The medieval Vaduz Castle, built 700 years ago, is a popular attraction and serves as the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Visitors can also take the Sareis Chairlift for panoramic views stretching into Austria.
For nature enthusiasts, the country boasts quiet hiking trails, cycling routes, and skiing in winter. Reanna noted that it's easy to visit from Switzerland, either by driving or walking across the border. Many of her followers expressed a desire to visit, with comments calling it 'absolutely beautiful' and 'so pretty.'
