Mariah Carey has seemingly snubbed Meghan Markle during a radio interview about her royal connections. The singer was asked about her upcoming performance at King Charles’ Sandringham House, but instead of mentioning the Duchess of Sussex, she cited meeting Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, as a highlight.
Carey described Ferguson as “cool,” making no reference to Meghan, who had interviewed her for the Archetypes podcast in 2022. The omission has been interpreted as a snub, especially given the awkward history between the two women.
During the podcast episode, Carey called Meghan a “diva,” which led to a tense exchange. Meghan pushed back, saying she didn’t connect with the term, while Carey insisted it was about her visual presentation and “gorgeous ensembles.”
The incident comes after reports that Meghan’s “inappropriate” living request was denied by the late Queen. Carey’s snub has fueled speculation about lingering tension from their podcast interaction.
