Jet2 and TUI passengers flying from Newcastle International Airport can save time by using a little-known baggage service. The Twilight Bag Drop allows travellers to drop off their luggage the evening before their flight, completely free of charge. The tip was shared by the airport on social media.
How the Twilight Bag Drop works
The service is available only to passengers who have already checked in online and are flying before midday with Jet2 or TUI. Bags can be left at the airport between 16:30 and 21:00 the day before departure. For TUI customers, the drop-off window starts at 16:00. The airport explained on Facebook: "Fancy saving some time before your holiday? If you're flying before midday and have already checked-in online, you can use Twilight Bag drop at Your Airport for your Jet2.com and TUI holiday. Drop your bags off the day before you're due to fly between 16:30 and 21:00."

Jet2 passengers can check in online from 28 days up to 24 hours before their flight via the website or app. Bags may be dropped off between 16:30 and 21:00 the evening before a morning flight. Jet2 says: "Thanks to Twilight Check-in, when you arrive at departures the next day, your luggage is already sorted. If you live near the airport or are staying at a hotel close by, it'll make your morning a little bit easier."
TUI details
TUI customers with a TOM or BY flight number departing before midday can drop bags between 16:00 and 21:00 the day before. This excludes flights to Melbourne, Florida. TUI explains: "Save time at the airport by dropping off your bags the day before your flight. This service is available if your flight has a TOM or BY flight number, departs before midday, and leaves from one of the airports listed below (includes Newcastle)." Passengers are reminded to bring their passport and travel documents when dropping off luggage.
