The hub by Premier Inn London Farringdon (Old Bailey), dubbed the 'UK's poshest Premier Inn', impressed a guest before she even reached her room. Located in a former Victorian police station, the Grade II-listed building combines original features with modern design.
Historic Setting and First Impressions
Amy Jones, senior travel journalist, stayed at the hotel and noted the striking white-tiled stairway, tall ceilings, arched windows, and a concrete floor that made her feel she was about to turn herself in. A historic blue police lantern that once guided residents to the station is also preserved.
The hotel opened in February 2026 and is part of the hub by Premier Inn brand, which offers smaller rooms at lower prices. Rooms start from £75 per night.
Interior and Amenities
The communal lounge features elegant sofas and armchairs beneath a white ornate ceiling, with a metal shelf dividing the space. A bar and dining area serve breakfast and pizzas until late. Jones mentioned she enjoyed a pizza at 1am.
Her standard room (11 sqm) included a double bed fixed against the wall, under-bed storage, a pull-out drawer, a small desk, shelves, a built-in wardrobe, and a glass-door bathroom with green tiles. Lighting and air conditioning are electronically controlled.
Conclusion
Jones described the room as a 'pod-like' space that sacrifices space but not comfort. She called it the 'ideal place to spend a night in London' and agreed it deserves the title of UK's poshest Premier Inn.
