The beach overlooks Ceredigion Bay and is backed by sand dunes that give way to lush green countryside. It regularly appears on social media, with travel pages praising its clear water and powdery sand.
In June this year, the TikTok travel page shefindsadventure shared a video describing it as 'one of the best in the UK.' The video, with more than 11,000 likes and over 6,000 reposts, shows clips of sand dunes and clear waves. The caption reads: "This beach has to be one of the best I have been to in the UK. Crystal clear water, almost white powdery sand. Not too crowded. Absolutely loved Harlech Beach."
Castle and Nearby Attractions
At the far end of the beach lies Harlech town, home to Harlech Castle, a 13th-century stronghold built by Edward I. The castle played a role in the War of the Roses and the English Civil War.
To the south is Shell Island, a popular camping spot with 300 acres and 800 pitches. The beach also hides a quirky feature: the wreck of a World War Two American fighter plane, known as the 'Maid of Harlech.' Its exact location remains a mystery, though it has been revealed a few times, first in the 1970s, then in 2007 and 2014.

Harlech Beach is about a three-hour drive from Greater Manchester. There is a pay and display car park at Ffordd Glan Mor Harlech (LL46 2UG), with accommodation options nearby.
