Travel expert Rob Brooks from On The Beach has identified four European destinations offering great value for July holidays, all under £500 per person. His top recommendation is the Greek island of Rhodes, with a six-night all-inclusive break at Avra Beach Resort Hotel from Birmingham Airport costing £445 per person.
Rhodes Tops the List
Brooks declared Rhodes as his number one spot, stating, "To be honest, it wasn't even close." He highlighted the island's reliable sunshine, brilliant beaches, stunning Old Town, and competitive pricing. A key factor in 2026 is the increased flight capacity and a strong last-minute market, keeping prices reasonable.
Kavos, Corfu: More Than a Party Destination
In fourth place, Kavos on Corfu offers a five-night self-catering break at Oula Maisonettes from East Midlands Airport for only £198 per person. Brooks emphasized Kavos's beautiful beaches, amazing boat trips, and great restaurants, with July temperatures comfortably in the 30s Celsius.
Bulgaria: Surprising Value
Bulgaria ranks third, with a six-night all-inclusive stay at Hotel Slavuna in Albena from Luton Airport for £470 per person. Brooks noted Bulgaria's image problem but highlighted its amazing all-inclusive resorts, expansive beaches, and superb weather, with July temperatures in the high 20s Celsius and excellent value for money.
Costa del Sol, Spain: Classic Choice
Spain's Costa del Sol takes second place, with a stay at Sandos Griego in Torremolinos from Bristol Airport for £343 per person all-inclusive. Brooks was surprised by its value, noting it emerged as the cheapest Costa in July. He praised the guaranteed sunshine, extensive beaches, and wide selection of resorts.
Expert Methodology
Brooks analyzed booking patterns, weather forecasts, and live data to compile his list. He acknowledged that July prices surge due to school holidays but found these destinations offer great value. "For consistency, value and weather, Rhodes is probably the destination for the summer," he concluded.
