A Childhood Classic Reimagined: The Great Green Room Comes to Life
Book lovers and families can now step directly into the pages of one of the world's most cherished bedtime stories. The Sheraton Boston Hotel has collaborated with Harper Collins and the estate of author Margaret Wise Brown to create a stunningly accurate, real-life replica of the 'Great Green Room' from the beloved 1947 classic, Goodnight Moon.
Every Detail from the Page, Perfectly Recreated
This is no ordinary hotel room. Every corner of the specially designed suite has been meticulously crafted to mirror the iconic illustrations from the book. Guests are immediately enveloped by the deep green walls, standing on the famous tiger-striped carpet and spotting the iconic red balloon eternally floating in the corner.
The room is furnished with the yellow rocking chair and features an LED fireplace, above which hangs the memorable image of the cow jumping over the moon. Even the quiet details are present, including a framed silhouette of the old lady whispering 'hush' and an illustration of bears in chairs on an adjacent wall.
An Unforgettable Family Getaway
Designed to delight both children and adults, the experience extends beyond the visual. Upon arrival, guests find a plush bunny toy and a copy of Goodnight Moon to take home. A nostalgic snack of milk and cookies is served in a souvenir bowl marked 'mush'. Children can also play with a working dollhouse, just like in the story.
The accommodation itself is spacious, forming part of a larger suite on the 24th floor that can sleep two adults and two children, offering impressive views of Boston's Charles River. To enhance the stay, guests receive a $150 food and beverage credit and four tickets to the Prudential Center's 360-degree observatory.
A Growing Trend in Themed Travel
This immersive experience is part of a wider trend of hotels tapping into childhood nostalgia. It joins other famous literary-themed accommodations such as the Eloise Suite at The Plaza Hotel and Willie Wonka-themed rooms in New York and Los Angeles.
The Goodnight Moon suite at the Sheraton Boston Hotel is available for bookings now through February 2026, with reservations being handled via Marriott's website. It offers a unique opportunity for families to create new memories within a timeless fictional world.
