A new outdoor fan zone has been confirmed for England's World Cup quarter final against Norway on Saturday, set to open on the banks of the River Tyne in Gateshead. The venue, Summer on the Southside, will host an al fresco screening of the match, offering fans a riverside experience during the ongoing heatwave.
Match Details and Fan Zone Announcement
England advanced to the quarter finals after a thrilling victory over Mexico in the early hours, a match described as one of the greatest in World Cup history. The focus now shifts to the clash with Norway, scheduled for Saturday. In response to high demand, Summer on the Southside announced on Thursday night that it will operate an outdoor fan zone for the game.
In a social media post, the venue said: "A lush little open air chilled location next to the river during a rare heatwave. What more can one want apart from some quality beers and bait from BagHead and Big Norm's BBQ."
Ticket Pricing and Other Options
Tickets to watch England v Norway at Summer on the Southside are priced at £3, with front table seating available for £7 per person. Other fan zones open for the quarter final include Times Square, which reopens after being closed for the Mexico match; O2 City Hall; NX featuring MC Tazo; Frate on High Bridge; Freight Island on top of Eldon Square; and both St James STACK and the STACK on Pilgrim Street.

Despite many having work on Monday, the England v Mexico match drew large crowds to pubs, bars, and fan zones across the city.
