Five Welsh restaurants make La Liste's Top 1,000 for 2026

Five Welsh restaurants have been named among the world's best places to eat in La Liste's Top 1,000 Restaurants for 2026. The venues, located in Pembrokeshire, Monmouthshire, the Vale of Glamorgan, and Ceredigion, were included in the internationally-recognised ranking, which compiles assessments from more than 1,100 sources, including established restaurant guides, professional critics, international publications, and online customer reviews.

The Five Welsh Restaurants on the List

The Welsh restaurants featured in La Liste's latest round-up are Annwn in Narberth, Ynyshir in Machynlleth, The Whitebrook in Monmouth, Home in Penarth, and Sosban and the Old Butchers in Anglesey.

Sosban and the Old Butchers, a former butchers shop, The Whitebrook, known for its nature-led dining experience, and Home, where guests ring a bell to enter before tasting a surprise menu, each hold one Michelin star.

Ynyshir's Two-Star Status

Ynyshir is Wales' only two-Michelin-star restaurant, and TV chef James Martin has declared it the “best place to eat in the world”. Its menu costs £450 (plus VAT), and diners eat what they are given in an epic feast.

Annwn in Narberth, famed for its menu of foraged ingredients, holds a Michelin Green star.

Reaction from The Whitebrook

Chris Harrod, chef patron at The Whitebrook, told WalesOnline: “We’re delighted that The Whitebrook has been included in La Liste’s top 1,000 restaurants in the world.

“A proud moment for our small team here in the Wye Valley, and recognition of the care, creativity and hard work behind every service.

“Thank you to our growers, producers, and everyone who joins us at the table.

“Our corner of the Wye Valley, recognised on the world stage.”
