Fears for Missing British Pensioner in Costa del Sol

The daughter of a British former property developer has said she is “beside herself with worry” after her father vanished during a holiday in the Costa del Sol. Clifford Wildgoose, 76, was last seen around 2am on Saturday, September 20, at Patrick’s 19th Hole Bar in Puerto Banus, near Marbella.

Mr Wildgoose was due to board a flight to Manchester on the morning of September 21 with a solicitor friend. However, his daughter Melanie Hall said there was no sign of him at Malaga Airport and the family is increasingly concerned for his safety. “We’re all extremely worried,” she said.

Melanie reported that a transaction of £7 was made on her father’s card at a supermarket near where he was last seen, along with four or five other small purchases. “At the moment we don’t know if it’s my dad making those purchases or someone who’s got hold of his wallet,” she added.

Mr Wildgoose, originally from Ashton-under-Lyne but now living in Whitby, had left his phone and passport in his friend’s apartment in La Cala de Mijas. He is described as a “chatty, friendly kind man” who is well-travelled. Spanish police have been informed and are investigating the transactions.
