Family's £8k Cruise Nightmare: 'Vomit Everywhere' and No Refund
Family's £8k cruise turns into vomit nightmare

A British family has slammed P&O Cruises after their £8,000 dream holiday turned into a vomit-strewn nightmare, with no refund offered for the ordeal.

'It Was Like a Horror Film'

The Smith family (name changed) from Manchester booked the luxury getaway aboard the Britannia, expecting pristine decks and five-star service. Instead, they claim to have encountered overflowing toilets, corridors littered with sick bags, and fellow passengers retching in public areas.

"The stench was unbearable," said mother-of-two Sarah. "Our cabin toilet overflowed twice, and we had to step over vomit in the corridors. My kids were traumatised."

No Escape From the Chaos

The seven-day Canary Islands cruise in February was reportedly plagued by:

  • A suspected norovirus outbreak affecting hundreds
  • Insufficient cleaning staff to manage the crisis
  • Entertainment cancellations due to ill performers
  • Restricted access to buffet areas

"We paid premium prices but were treated like cattle," fumed father James. "The crew seemed overwhelmed and P&O's response has been insulting."

Passengers Demand Accountability

Despite multiple complaints, the family say P&O offered just a 15% discount on a future cruise - an offer they call "a slap in the face".

P&O Cruises told the Mirror: "We regret any inconvenience caused. Health protocols were followed rigorously." They declined to comment on individual cases.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirms it received multiple reports about the voyage but found no regulatory breaches.
