Electric Summer, a sprawling fairground next to Battersea Power Station, has been hailed as the 'best summer hangout spot' in London by a TikTok creator. The sun-soaked site offers rides, attractions, street food, and a stand dedicated to chocolate-covered strawberries, all with free entry.
TikTok creator's verdict
TikTok user @primrosejess, who spent the summer hunting down the capital's best days out, told her followers: 'If I could only recommend one thing to do in London this August… It'd be this'. Her video described the fairground as the 'best summer hangout spot in the city'.
What to do at Electric Summer
The main attraction is the Big Wheel, offering views of the Thames. For thrill-seekers, the Wave Swinger is a popular choice. Those who prefer to stay grounded can enjoy bumper cars or test their balance at the roller rink, which hosts themed sessions almost every day.
After a recent visit, TikToker @maryaam shared that 'one visit was not enough', adding 'going around at sunset was such a vibe, it was so cute and the views were amazing'. Another user, @z.archives, posted that they were 'obsessed' with the fairground.
Costs and food
While entry is free, rides and activities come at a price. The Big Wheel costs £10 for adults and £8 for children, while roller skating tickets start at £15 for adults and £10 for kids. Traditional rides and games reportedly start at around £4 each. Visitors can also wander the site, take in the views, and buy refreshments without spending much.
Street food vendors include loaded fries, crab rolls, and fish and chips. Sweet treats, including chocolate-covered strawberries, were called 'a must try' by @London.discoveries.
